Tai and Tan/Goh win Dubai titles!
The end of the year was an absolut highlight: The World Superseries Finals in Dubai!
The best badminton players of the world fought for the title in Dubai from the 14th to 18th December. Only 8 players in each discipline had the chance to play for the title. They started in two groups of four players and the two best players reached the semi finals.
Team VICTOR celebrated two big successes. Tai Tzu Ying from Taiwan, fully equipped by VICTOR, showed again a top performance. She finished the group stage as the second. In the semi-final she won against Sun Yu from China with 21-19-21-19 and reached the final, where she had to play against Sung Ji Hyun from Korea, who previously won against Tai during the group stage. In the pure VICTOR final Tai took revanche to the Korean and crowned her great year with the win in the Superseries Finals. She won over Sung Ji Hyun with 21-14 21-13.
In the discipline men's doubles were also two VICTOR players on the top. V Shem Goh and Wee Kiong Tan from Malaysia won over the Chinese Chai Biao and Hong Wei with 21-18 21-16. In the final they had to play against the top seeded Takeshi Kamura and Keigo Sonoda from Japan. The Korean Tan and Goh, fully equipped by VICTOR, won with 21-14 21-19 and got the title.
Next to these great successes to the end of the year, Tai Tzu Ying (women's singles) and V Shem Goh/Wee Kiong Tan (men's doubles) are glad about their world rankings No. 1!
We congratulate on these great successes and we are looking forward to the next matches in the year 2017!
